Scanogen is developing molecular diagnostic systems
based on single
molecule biosensors. These novel biosensors consist of DNA
molecules and micron-sized particles that convert nucleic acid
hybridization into an optical signal that can be detected
using robust equipment. The bound target molecule is subjected
to
a disrupting force which allows for rapid detection with extremely low
background noise. These biosensors enable detection of target molecules
with high sensitivity and without the need of nucleic acid
amplification.
