• Optimize and troubleshoot a novel antibiotic susceptibility assay.
• Conduct standard susceptibility testing assay to determine MIC of clinical strains.
• Conduct, coordinate and/or oversee research projects involving microbiology.
• Utilize knowledge of bacterial resistance mechanisms to improve susceptibility testing performance.
• Develop assays capable of analyzing different sample types, such as whole blood and urine.
• Collaborate in the development of an automated system to conduct rapid bacterial detection and AST testing.
• Directs and may perform microbiological tests
• Write reports, protocols, and present results to research teams during meetings
• Data analysis and interpretation
• PhD or significant experience in Microbiology or related field
• Experience in microbiology research (3+ years)
• Experience utilizing molecular biology techniques
• Ability to interact with colleagues in a team environment
• Proficient in data analysis and pattern recognition
• Experience developing molecular diagnostic or immuno assays
• Experience studying bacterial resistance mechanisms and methods to detect resistance
